GTC receives Family Business Award from UC’s Goering Center
The Goering Center at the UC Lindner College of Business has been recognizing the leading private and family-owned businesses in the Cincinnati area since 1997. Each year, over 500 companies are nominated, with 75 selected as semi-finalists. From this group, three companies are chosen as finalists or grand winners, based on size categories.
In the over 125 employee category, General Tool Company (GTC) was honored as one of two finalist award recipients on September 12, 2017. The recognition highlights GTC’s sustained growth, operational excellence, and longstanding impact as a third-generation family business.
Accepting the award on behalf of the company were Greg Kramer, Chief Technology Officer, William Kramer Jr., Chairman, and Bill Kramer III, President, alongside John Goering, Founder of the Family Business Center. During the ceremony, Bill Kramer III presented a video overview of the company, highlighting GTC’s 70-year legacy and emphasizing the contributions of the company’s dedicated craftsmen and women who have served clients with precision and reliability over decades.
This recognition underscores General Tool Company’s commitment to family-owned business values, employee dedication, and excellence in advanced manufacturing.
