April 17 2019, by Pete Borden

U.S. Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) visited General Tool Company (GTC) on February 21, 2019, meeting with team members and touring the Reading, Ohio–based facility to gain insight into the company’s role as a key supplier to the U.S. defense and aerospace sectors.

During the visit, Congressman Wenstrup viewed a wide range of precision components manufactured by GTC that support critical U.S. military and aerospace programs. These included parts destined for aircraft carriers, Navy destroyers, ship-to-shore hovercraft, F-35 fighter jets, SPY radar systems, GE aircraft engines, and nuclear submarines, among many other programs.

Company leadership also highlighted GTC’s recent growth, noting that employment had expanded to nearly 300 employees in the months leading up to the visit. The growth reflects increasing demand across defense and aerospace platforms and GTC’s continued investment in advanced manufacturing capabilities and workforce development.

Now in its third generation of family ownership, General Tool Company has spent more than 72 years supporting the nation’s defense industrial base. The company remains proud of its long-standing role in providing mission-critical hardware that helps protect the American warfighter.
