U.S. Congressman Brad Wenstrup (OH-02) returned to General Tool Company (GTC) on February 21, 2019, to meet with team members and tour the company’s Reading, Ohio–based operations. The visit provided an opportunity to highlight GTC’s role as a key defense and aerospace supplier supporting the U.S. Navy and other Tier One customers.

During the tour, Congressman Wenstrup reviewed a wide range of precision components manufactured by GTC that support major defense and aerospace programs. These included parts destined for aircraft carriers, Navy destroyers, ship-to-shore hovercraft, F-35 fighter jets, SPY radar systems, GE engines, and nuclear submarines, among many other mission-critical platforms.

Company leadership also discussed GTC’s recent growth, noting that employment had expanded to nearly 300 employees in the months leading up to the visit. The increase reflects continued demand across defense and aerospace markets and GTC’s ongoing investment in advanced manufacturing capabilities and workforce development.

Now in its third generation of family ownership, General Tool Company has spent more than 72 years providing critical hardware in support of the American warfighter. The company remains committed to quality, precision, and reliability in support of the nation’s defense industrial base.
