These are the tenets or the foundation of what we stand for, as a company and as individuals. These words describe not only what we stand for towards our “internal and external customers.”

Core

Our Core Values are as follows: to clearly demonstrate mutual respect towards one another in order to create a positive team and family spirit to challenge one another to be the best we can be. We cultivate trust for one another through cooperation, acting with integrity, and communicating openly to all parties. None of these should ever be compromised, for convenience or for short term expediency or gains.

Aspirational

Our Aspirational Values are those that we know we will need to be successful going forward in the 21 st century and beyond. These include being a Learning Organization to learn about ideas and technologies to do things better in the future, to always pay close Attention to Details and to Focus on Substance, which means to evaluate and measure ourselves objectively. Finally we strive to be ETDBW- Easy to Do Business With, to be flexible and to do what’s right for customers.

We know that these Values need to be integrated into EVERYTHING that we do – all systems and all decisions flow from these. They must be part of all of us.

The Customer

Our Customers — our clients — will be the ultimate judge of our work, of the success of these values. Without that customer, we have no business. Nothing happens until the customer sends us a part to quote or the purchase order to start the manufacture of that part. Our customers have depended on General Tool Company for 70 years to provide the best solution to their problems. We should never forget that, if GTC cannot do this, other companies will. They are the ultimate judge of our work.
