Accounting Manager

Job Description

Manage the accounting function and the personnel responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections and budget preparation.  Work closely with technical functions to ensure timely and accurate calculation of work-in-process inventory for period closing activities and coordinate the completion of business planning cycle reports, financial forecasts and annual budgets.

Responsibilities

Oversee the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
Prepare and analyze financial reports in accordance with all period ending requirements.
Ensure the accuracy of work in process calculations by developing a basic understanding of project and program performance by period.
Establish and maintain internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and information security.
Ensure that sensitive financial and personally identifiable information (PII) is maintained with strictest confidentiality.
Work directly with Business Development and Program Management to complete customer requests for cost and pricing certification.
Coordinate forecasting and budgeting activities during the organization’s business planning cycle.
Prepare quarterly tax reports including sales and use tax and commercial activity tax
Manage daily cash flow reports, active bill pay and push transactions as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years related experience, including previous supervisory experience
Experience with cost-to-complete accounting processes
Advanced user of MS Excel and ERP data collection systems
Ability to understand and manipulate large amounts of numerical data
Strong communication and presentation skills
Previous experience with Federal Acquisition Regulation System and Truth in Negotiations Act regulations
CPA designation preferred
