GTC’s forte is meeting our clients’ biggest challenges on new or long running projects. We use DFM- Design for Manufacturability-skills along with unique technologies, such as large multi-axis machine tool platforms, Friction Stir Welding, Robotic welding or Diamond tooling. The foundations for our success are our technical expertise, our commitment to the highest technology machine tools and ancillary systems, as well as our project management team that keeps customers up to date.

We are located northwest of Cincinnati in the suburb of Reading where the Kramer family founded the company in 1947. We are guided by our Company Values that stress teamwork, integrity and open communication in a collaborative and learning environment.

Our workforce of 275 craftsmen has an average tenure of over 10 years and we are a non-union facility.

General Tool Company has 45 Machine Tools and five (5) buildings that total of 285,000 square feet under roof with 28′ of crane clearance. Here’s the breakdown on our facility: Plant 1– Receiving, Stores, NDT;  Plant 2– Weld and Fabrication;  Plant 3– Administration and Large Machining;  Plant 4– 5 Axis Machining and  Plant 5– Assembly and Shipping. Also, 3 miles north we have an additional facility (Woodlawn) of 35,000 square feet that is used for special projects such as assembly of confidential projects.

General Tool Company has not been impacted by the Covid-19 virus outbreak and is operating normally at this time. We are continuing to take steps to protect our employees and visitors. On-site visits are restricted to essential business only. Note that all visitors must be pre-approved by GTC personnel and will be screened on arrival.
