Manufacturing CNC Strategist

Job Description

This critical team position serves as the technical liaison between manufacturing engineering and programming.

Responsibilities

Reviews incoming process routers & drawings for best machining practices and coordinates change recommendations with engineering.
Verifies raw material size & condition.
Completes CNC process sheets by selecting cutting tools & parameters that maximize efficiency & minimize tooling costs. Process plans are reviewed with manufacturing.
Responds to technical concerns & provides council & guidance as needed.
Works with manufacturing & outside tooling specialists to evaluate new cutting tool technologies.
Identifies & implements CNC method improvements to reduce cycle time, improve quality & reduce cost.
May lead value engineering efforts, documenting findings & making formal recommendations to management.

Qualifications

7-10 years experience in a manufacturing job shop environment using 4 & 5 axis milling & turning centers, including set-up experience.
Strong 3D visualization skills.
In-depth knowledge of tooling & CNC machining techniques.
Working knowledge of PCs & Windows operating systems.
Proven ability to communicate & collaborate with others.
